Unnecessary Screening & Denial of Civil Rights
A Heavy Hand
Children in the State of Illinois have been denied access to lawful activities because they share a religious opinion (with their parents and others like themselves) not to obtain or use a Social Security Administration number. This demonstrates the totalitarian effect that 42 USCS 666 has had upon State lawmakers and bureaucrats, to devise cruel and unnecessary procedures.
One Man's Testimony
"My boys have been denied hunting licenses and bow deer permits, because the state now has a credit card machine that the seller plugs their info into and it will not issue one for anyone who does not have the number. Therefore they are now subject to this discrimination."
After another visit to the Department of Natural Resources: "We just returned from the DNR. They told me that they have no provisions for our religious exemption, except one official said that if we looked Amish that we would be leaving with the licenses in our hands."
Unwarranted Search of Minors
Tracking children for child support enforcement is an absurd enterprise, and one that reveals an uncharitable approach to justice. The mere concept of demanding the number for a private trust account in lieu of releasing a civil right to a child is unconscionable. Whereas children are guaranteed equal protection of the laws they are nonetheless subject to an abuse of power which denies them life, liberty, or happiness without due process.
